Specialties Radio Diagnosis
The new face of the Department of Radiology and Imaging is not that of a single person but rather a group of highly trained professionals with international expertise in the imaging of musculoskeletal conditions. From the acquisition of the image to its interpretation, images are individually tailored to address the specific clinical concerns of the referring clinicians. This creates a "customized image" that provides superior diagnostic capabilities, often obviating the need for more invasive surgical procedures such as diagnostic arthroscopy.
Our radiologists are skilled in treating many conditions non-surgically with image guided injections, utilizing ultrasound and fluoroscopy.
The Department of Radio diagnosis from its inception, continues to play an important and significant role in the over all health care and academic activities.
The Department is well equipped with various Imaging Equipment such as conventional and multi slice Whole Body CT Scanners, Ultrasound equipments with color Doppler, X-Ray Machines like 500 MA X-Ray Unit with fluoroscopy, Three Portable X-Ray Units and a Mammography unit are available. The Department of Radiodiagosis also has PACS facility by which it provides digital films.
Whether it's a routine screening, a diagnostic test, or an interventional procedure, diagnostic imaging may be an unfamiliar experience. It's normal to be a little nervous. That's why you need a team of expert physicians and technologists to put you at ease.
At Nimra, our radiologists work closely with medical and surgical specialties to provide a full range of imaging services. We have subspecialists in every area of diagnostic imaging. Our experts use a variety of imaging modalities to provide diagnosis, consultation and intervention.
Most importantly, we use state-of-the-art equipment along with the latest technologies to provide the clearest, most detailed images possible. Because imaging studies are an essential component of preventative care and treatment, having the best diagnostic equipment possible is a vital step to good preventive health for our patients.
The Musculoskeletal Ultrasound uses state-of-the-art equipment to permit extended field of view imaging which is easier for referring physicians to review. Diagnostic imaging and ultrasound-guided targeted therapeutic joint, tendon, ganglion, neuroma and cyst injections are routinely performed as an alternative to surgical intervention or prolonged conservative care. Doppler examinations of blood flow for early detection of infection and post surgical evaluation of healing are unique offerings at HSS. Special protocols are also utilized for post surgical small venous clot detection.
Interventional procedures include arthrograms, myelograms, discograms, and out-patient image-guided (CT, fluoroscopy, ultrasound) aspirations, targeted therapeutic injections, and bone biopsies.
The mission of the Department of Radiology and Imaging is to provide the highest quality diagnostic imaging for musculoskeletal conditions and provide image guided treatment options to support restoration of function and mobility. Our goal is to enhance the quality of patient lives through cutting edge research in diagnostic imaging in MR, CT, Ultrasound and interventional radiology through development of new techniques that optimize early detection and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions.
